Centratel Group Investments was founded in 2001 by Michael Aitken and Steven Dent. The group launched Centracell (SIM-based LCR), Centravoice (PBX distribution), Centrafin (asset-based finance), and Cignale (PBX sales, installation, and service), all focused on offering hardware and services within the ICT sector in South Africa.

Evolution and Expansion

In 2008, Centracom was established to consolidate all of Centratel Group Investment’s offerings and to provide a solution to replace traditional Least Cost Routing (LCR) technologies with a more cost-effective and efficient alternative—Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).

Centracom’s voice offering aligned with evolving technologies and international trends, demonstrating Michael and Steven’s ability to identify key trends as a crucial success trait. This, along with their efficient service, earned the Reseller of the Year award in 2009.

Centracom continued its success through strict channel integrity, transparency, innovation, and ease of doing business, quickly establishing itself as one of the leading voice service providers for ICT dealers in South Africa. It rapidly expanded from offering voice and associated hardware to becoming a full voice service provider, delivering comprehensive voice and PBX installation and maintenance services.
